The three days of Media Expo 2016 in New Delhi is impeccably designed as an important source and facilitator of traditional as well as modern marketing strategies for marketers, brand managers and business professionals in the wide-format graphics market. In addition to the leading brands from the domestic market, a number of offshore exhibitors from China, Japan, South Korea and the UK are presenting their latest innovations in signage solutions at the landmark trade expo on indoor and outdoor advertising, display solutions/expertise. According to a latest market survey by GroupM, a leading global media management investment agency, India is one of the fastest-growing signage markets in the world. The survey report also reveals that the country is on its way to achieving the highest growth rate in advertising spends at 15.5 percent in the next six years.

Main attractions

Among the main attractions on the show floor, live demonstrations of HP’s two new DesignJet postscript printers during the course of the trade expo will open new prospects of multi-roll printing in signage and display graphic productions. Besides ease of operation and vivid results, the postscript printers are also said to cut cost with advanced 6-ink printing system; and the printers can be web-operated through just direct e-mail messages to the systems. Other brands like SignSutra, Cosign India, Associated Plastic, Neenjas Technologies, Promocare, Monosign—all known for their groundbreaking sign-making concepts, designs, materials and innovations—will be a league of crowd pulling exhibitors presenting newest novelties during the expo.

Now that the Indian signage industry continues its healthy growth with leading machine manufacturers, OEMs, distributors and others taking innovative leap with new technologies and products, a number of renowned brands at the expo will be displaying their out-of-box creative outputs. In this, visitors at the expo can also grasp printing advancements and variations associated with inks and consumables, printheads, and high-end technologies to be presented from notable brands like Colorjet, Monotech, Daksh Enterprises, Britomatics, NEGI Sign Systems & Supplies, Axis Enterprises, among others.

Transformation phase

The current signage market of India is now undergoing through a transformation phase from traditional way of sign making to digital/technological advancements surging at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 10 percent increased from 2013 to 2016. As per a market research, the country’s market for digital signage systems is projected to reach US$ 524 million (Rs 3510 cr) by 2019. The main segments perceiving this rapid growth in the industry include online services, new printing technologies and laser-engraved display solutions.
