Every year, Shanghai International AD & Sign Technology & Equipment Exhibition (APPPEXPO) brings on show floor a string of new machines, materials and technologies for the signage industry. This year, in its 25th edition, the expo showcased yet another range of new and upgraded products, presented by a host of brands from China and beyond.
Organised from March 08-11 at National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai, the 25th Shanghai International AD & Sign Technology & Equipment Exhibition (APPPEXPO 2017) marked another landmark edition of the trade expo, showing a spectrum of new products and prospects for sign making and display solutions of all kinds. Leading machine manufacturers and product suppliers from China and various other countries, including India, took part in the trade expo.
Among the crowd pullers at the event were some prominent companies like ColorJet from India. The show floor was fully packed with the participation of a host of leading global brands, namely, Mimaki, JHF, Durst, LDP, MUTOH, EPSON, AGFA Graphics, Roland, HandTop, Gongzheng, Smart, Efi, SwissQPrint, FUJIFILM Dimatix, Docan, Wit-Color, Vista, Infiniti, Crystal, Allwin, Keundo, SAM-INK, Phaeton, YWDS, SUDA, Senfeng, Blueview, among others.
APPPEXPO has been one of the leading international signage expos where a chunk of trade visitors and business delegates rushed from all over China and its neighbouring countries like India. Every edition of the expo presents whole gamut of signage and display art products and technologies, which include latest and upgraded range of wide-format printers, LED components, CNC routing systems, laser engravers, printing media and other allied items.
ColorJet eco-solvent concept

At the APPPEXPO 2017, ColorJet India demonstrated live the world’s first eco-solvent concept printer with XAAR MEMS printhead technology. ColorJet India joined hands with XAAR for the new MEMS technology printhead. Both the companies worked closely on development and testing of the new printhead technology in the conceptual stage. A 1.8 m wide concept eco-solvent printer with the new XAAR printhead technology is manufactured in the state-of-the-art production facility of ColorJet India. The printer is capable to run at astounding speeds with better print quality, particularly pertaining to dot placements.

He added that they believe in bringing stable and efficient technology to their customers with low cost of ownership, and thus help them boost profitability. Founded in 2004, ColorJet India caters its products to 14 countries worldwide and it maintains its operations via two manufacturing facilities and sales offices across seven countries, which include China, Bangladesh, UAE and Sri Lanka.
Crowd rushed to printers with XAAR 1201
Chinese XAAR channel partners, which include Guangzhou Xucheng Electronic Technology (Xucheng), Gongzheng Group and Zhengzhou New Century Digital Print Technology (New Century) displaying one or more printers using the XAAR 1201 printhead with eco-solvent ink, pulled crowd to their showcase. Launched at drupa 2016, the XAAR 1201 is a thin film piezo Silicon MEMS technology printhead perfect for OEMs looking to design textile or graphics printers for banners, soft signage and POS applications. This compact printhead delivers a high quality of print combined with high productivity and is exceptionally easy to integrate; therefore time-to-market is minimised.
