to
new DesignJet Z Series

Inc has expanded its proven HP DesignJet Z-series portfolio
of high-impact graphics printers with a 44-inch multi-roll
printer and a most affordable 24-inch high-impact graphics printer.
HP DesignJet Z5600 and Z2600 PostScript Printers come with a

The gloss white cast film comes with the company’s new
XLP low profile X-Scape air release technology, which makes it
easily repositionable to allow quick

Debarati Sen appointed
as new 3M India MD
3M India has appointed Debarati
Sen as its new managing director;
and she holds the post for 3M
Lanka Pvt Ltd too. She takes over the
post from Amit Laroya, who led the
company for the past three years and
is now moving to 3M Korea. Debarati Sen joined 3M in 1996 and
has been part of the company for over two decades now. She has
worked across various verticals and held key positions including chief
marketing officer and global business director at 3M.
Post her appointment as the MD, her new role will focus on
innovation, aligning the organisation closely to customer needs in
the Indian market. 3M India was established in the country in 1988
and has completed more than 25 years of operation. The company
leverages its global innovation expertise to develop a range of
products including signage printing materials and others addressing
unique needs of diverse customers in different market segments.

EPSON Indonesia opens
new inkjet printer
factory
EPSON announces that its Indonesian
manufacturing subsidiary PT
Indonesia Epson Industry has begun
production at a new inkjet printer assembly
factory as part of the company’s strategic
plans for its inkjet printer (printing solutions)
business. In connection to this, EPSON
Indonesia recently had an inaugural function
for guests including
representatives
of the Indonesian
government. The
factory, which was
acquired from
another company
in July 2013,
lies adjacent to the current lot and was
refurbished at a cost of about three billion
yen in FY 2015 (ended March 2016). The
company will expand its production capacity
in the future as warranted by demand and
plans to increase its workforce to 12,000
from the current level of about 10,000.
In addition to production and logistics
functions, EPSON Indonesia has a printer
design function too. The company’s design
capabilities will be strengthened in the
future to tailor products to the needs of
emerging markets, design products for easier
manufacturability, and accelerate product
development cycle times.
EFI acquires
Optitex for digital
transformation in
textile printing
EFI has announced the acquisition of
Optitex, an emerging, fast growing

Mehta Cad Cam redefines
UV flatbed
and eco-solvent printing
Since there has been missing of good quality UV flatbed systems in small format in the

Bansal Electrostat
New Delhi-based Bansal Electrostat invests in
HP PageWide XL 5000, which is now installed
at the company’s Nehru Place shop. Adoption
of the powerful, efficient monochrome and colour
production machine has increased the production

SII Printek introduces
new RC1536 printhead
SII Printek, a unit of Seiko Holding
Group, has introduced RC1536
printhead, the newest addition
to their industrial inkjet printhead
range. Featuring an extra wide printwidth
(108mm) that enables print-bars
to be configured with a small number
of printheads, RC1536 is designed to
work at low-voltage thereby reducing
initial investment to
driver electronics with the
additional benefit of low
energy consumption. Isolated
channel technology of the new

Invisible ink from Mimaki
One of the latest innovations from Mimaki is its ‘invisible
ink’ introduced recently. The ink is visible only under UV

other elements of room
interiors for an otherworldly
atmosphere under special
lighting. One of the other
possible commercial
applications of the ink would
be printing on beer bottles
that can ‘light up’ a club
experience. Mimaki has also
announced application produced by a 3D concept printer designed
specifically for signage and display graphics and the industrial
products markets. This is a full-colour UV inkjet method for high
definition 3D printing that drew a great deal of interest when the
company showcased it at the recent drupa 2016.

Mutoh announces the
launch of a new
ValueJet 1638UH,
which is designed for highspeed
hybrid printing. This
64 inch UV-LED hybrid
printer can take roll and
rigid substrates. The new
model features dual staggered printheads and dual UV lamps, a
design engineered to push print speed up to 220 sq ft/hr and decrease
cure time. PSPs using this new hybrid system can print on media up
to a ˝ inch thick with maximum resolution of 1440 dpi. Available
configurations of the printer include dual CMYK or CMYK + white
+ varnish. The 1638UH also features Intelligent Interweave printing,
