In-Store Asia 2016
reveals new possibilities in
in-shop display solutions


Proclaimed to be a landmark retail experience show in the Indian subcontinent, In-Store Asia 2016 showcased a spectrum of latest possibilities in in-shop display systems and solutions. SIGN & GRAPHICS captures a glimpse of the three-day expo organised from August 4-6, 2016 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi.

Crowd that gathered at In-Store Asia 2016 included a horde of top level senior decision-makers from retail domain as well as in-shop graphic designers, sign manufacturers and service providers who come down to explore new ideas to reboot and re-imagine their businesses to gratify new age customers. The 10th edition of the retail experience show showcased inspirations, innovations and transformations for the professionals engaging in in-shop designs, displays, branding and allied activities.

Spread over an exhibition floor of 7,500 sq m, In-Store Asia 2016 pulled more than 100 exhibitors consisting mainly of retail solution providers, whose activities include specialisation in in-store design, visual merchandising, fixtures, display/signage graphics, lighting, POPs, printing, retail equipments, among others. More than 5,000 trade visitors or industry professionals thronged the show seeking new business ideas and network.

Retails, one of the leading solution providers for the retail industry, was the main sponsor of the show, along with the associate sponsors, Roland DG and Kruti Promotions. Since the first edition of the show a decade back, In-Store Asia has been a significant professional retail platform where present the latest trends in retail solutions. The show consists of an exhibition, conventions and the popular VM&RD Retail Awards.


At the conventions during the show, speakers from India and offshore destinations shared their expertise, knowledge and information on the latest in retail research, design, visual merchandising, design innovations and so on through talks and discussions organised on every single day of the show.


Some of the key exhibitors whose showcases revealed a series of groundbreaking in-shop display and design solutions included Planet Dezign, Sinex, SignSutra, Trevision, to mention some. “This expo is an opportunity for us to interact with right kind of professionals who show interest in our innovative in-shop solutions,” said Sukanya Bose-De of Planet Dezign. The company is an award winning retail communications design and deliver studio.

Leading printing machine majors and material providers, such as Amitoje, Vijas Digital, Apsom Infotex Sun Sign Technologies and City Advertising participated in the show, presenting innovations in UV and other high-end prints for retail outlets. Kamlesh Chaurasia from Apsom Infotex said that they showcased the prospects of UV printed graphics in in-shop branding. Showing innovative line of backlit standees and such products, Amitoje pulled crowd at the expo. And yet another crowd puller at the show was what all innovation Vijas Digital presented at its stall.

EuroShop for first time

EuroShop Düsseldorf, one of the world’s leading trade fairs for capital goods in retail trade, has marked its India entry this year, presenting itself under the umbrella Mall of Europe – powered by EuroShop – in In-Store Asia 2016. EuroShop built up an opportunity for a tentative exploration of the Indian market for valuable initial contacts. It helped a lot in eliminating obstacles of separate participation, as the team of experienced EuroShop from Düsseldorf had worked with its Indian subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf India, providing exhibitors with help and advice in preparing for the trade show while also assisting with the actual implementation on site, in New Delhi.

VM&RD Retail Design Awards


With more than 270 entries competing for 23 categories and 65 awards from top retail design firms, the prestigious VM&RD Retail Design Awards were announced on the sidelines of In-Store Asia 2016, presenting accolades to the winners that comprised retailers, brands, service provider and manufacturers from the Indian retail design and visual merchandising community. An international jury of 23 judges selected the winners, among which some of the well-known Indian in-store design firms like 02 June Design Studio, 4D Experience, Studio Lotus, etc were included.
